Biography
Erika Tan is a Malaysian-Chinese born of a Malaysian father and Singaporean mother. She had her first taste of professional modeling at the tender age of 5, walking the runway for a children's label in Malaysia. Her modeling career did not end there, she continued her education and picked up her passion again during her high school/ university years spent in Australia. Erika completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree in Australia while pursuing her modeling career as a freelancer. She then moved on to full time professional modeling in Singapore for a few years before stepping into the world of acting. Fluent in Mandarin, English, & Malay; Erika started acting in 2015 where she managed to audition and scored her first supporting role alongside several well-known veteran Singaporean actors such as Christopher Ming Shun Lee, Tay Ping Hui, Jacelyn Tay, Ann Kok etc for a local TV-series (Crescendo Qi Fei). She then continues to act in several other main supporting roles for many Singapore local TV shows and web-series such as Peace & Prosperity, VIC, Hello From the Other Side - It's Time, My One in a Million, C.L.I.F Season 5 etc, which then went on to debut in Malaysia as well. She has also managed to star in her first Malay TV series Forensik for Suria channel, and also an appearance in the famous Singapore English crime show Code of Law: Final. Her most recent work is still undergoing post-production: An international Chinese TV series The Legend of the Ferryman, which is predicted to premier around August 2021. Besides her interest in modeling and acting, music has always been part of her life as well. Erika has participated in singing performances during her kindergarten and primary school years. She also learned to play the piano, violin, cello and guitar during her teenage years, and performed annually for her school's orchestra concerts. She has performed a couple of oldies for the soundtrack of popular TV show Crescendo QiFei. She has also scored the opportunity to write, compose, and perform her 1st Chinese single for a Singaporean Toggle web-series as their sub-theme song (Dream Walkers). Erika also does song covers leisurely for her YouTube channel. Apart from modeling and acting, Erika is also a multilingual professional voice-over artist. She was the voice behind Audi Fashion Festival (AFF) Singapore and Singapore Fashion Week for a few years, and has also done live hosting/announcer for events in Singapore/Malaysia. She is also actively doing voice-over projects for voice-acting, dubbing, commercials, adverts, animations etc at the moment.
